UEFA recently looked to raise the profile of the Champions League Final, in fact a bigger event, to that of the Super Bowl. As a result they developed an over arching promotional theme for 2015-18, ‘Where Legends Are Made’. The 2015/16 promotional campaign is called ‘The Stars of #UCL’. It will celebrate the iconic stars of the pitch whilst showcasing the unique star qualities inherent in the UCL brand. I was charged, on behalf of the Manchester events agency Ear to the Ground, with creating a visual identity for the campaign based on present UEFA guidelines and implementing this into a word mark and guidelines document.
